The American Dream to me means a goal or idea in which freedom includes the opportunity for success. I believe that everyone should believe in the American Dream. The American Dream can influence kids, teenagers, and even adults to do better. The American Dream also gives those who aren't from the United States a opportunity to be successful in a new way. Other countries don't have a opportunity like us, which should make us take advantage of this opportunity. The American Dream is something great every one in the U.S. guide their self by inorder to be successful. Teenagers now do not take part nor believe in the American Dream.
My American dream is to graduate high school with a 3.5 Gpa. Afterwards i want to go start to Southern University to major in music and minor in engineering. When i get to Southern i plan to play in the band. I than plan to soon join a sorority my sophomore year in college. After I graduate from Southern i plan to go back to college to work my way up to the highest degree in engineering than music. I will soon become a engineer, get my own house, have a family, and own my own music business.

good friday assignment
A random act of kindness i can do to celebrate good friday is go to charity and give them 50 dollars, donate clothes, and give a stranger a few dollars. To me kindness means a kind act or giving your last to someone in need or to give something to someone. When i do something nice for it makes me feel happy, proud, and grateful knowing i gave something to someone. I can show kindness to strangers by giving them food or money to get food. The nicest thing some one done for is let me borrow money when broke. When someone says thank you it makes me joyful because it lets me know they appreciate what i've done. if i had a million dollars to help other people i would donate 1,000 to cancer programs, give 1,000 to charity, give money to surgerys that isn't guaranteed the person will make it through, and give money to a sickle cell program.

Chapter 8&9 quotation assignment
Chapter 8 (page 63 paragraph 2)
Quote- "And when he saw that i wanted to learn, he hated me even more than he did the others, because I challenged him when the others didn't."
3) This quotation indicates a conflict of blacks not being able to want to learn freely without any discrimination. Back than they didn't believe that blacks were smart or were even able to understand what the teachers discussed. No one in those days expected for a black to be bright enough to challenge a teacher or to even be able to even be smart period they expected less from blacks. They thought this because of their color they only believed whites were bright.
2) This quotation characterizes everyone that didn't have dark skin because it shows that they hated that a black person actually was interested in learning. They didn't expect much from a black person they thought that all blacks could do is pick cotton, pulling onions, and working in a garden. They didn't want blacks to become higher than them nor to be successful. They didn't want them to take power and to be in charge. Even blacks were downing their self because they started to believe what was being said.
Chapter 9 (page 73 last paragraph)
Quote- "He looked at her as though he did not know who she was, or what she was doing there."
3) Yes this quotation indicates a conflict. It indicates a conflict of Jefferson losing his mind. He didn't even touch the food his aunt brought for him even though it was his favorite. He wasn't worried about nothing but when they was going to pull the switch and who was going to pull it.
1) This quotation relates to the theme of depression. I say this because you can tell that being in jail and on a death sentence is causing Jefferson to become stressed and depressed. He was paranoid by the fact that he was to die anyday for a crime every one know he didn't comitt. They pleaded him guilty of a case when they knew he wasn't capable of murder he was the only one living on the crime and a bonus was that he was black. It scared him he wished they was there to see what really happened but even if so he probably would still be pleaded guilty.

chapter 4&5 quotation assignment
chapter 4.. Quote- "prove to these white men- that he's not a hog he's a man." page 31 paragraph 2. Question 3) This quotation indicates a conflict of white men calling Jefferson a hog and a dumb animal. They called him a hog because they did not think he was a man because he was black. They felt as if he wasn't good enough/ nor smart enough to be called a man. They felt that a black man or boy wasn't deserved to be called a man because of they color.
Question 2) This quotation characterizes the white men by them calling Jefferson a hog it show that they are cruel, mean, and racist toward him. It also shows that white men did not have respect for Jefferson so that can indicate that they most likely didn't have respect for any other black man. It shows that they seen him as nothing more a dumb animal, hog, and/or anything else but a human being.
chapter 5.. Quote- "they knew Jefferson was supposed to die in the electric chair but they hadn't known how this would happen." page 39 paragraph 4. Question 6) The contemporary issue this quotation connects is everyone knew no matter if you committed the crime or not if you was there and black you was going to be found guilty. You knew you was going to be sentenced to death. No one understood how Jefferson out of all people could commit such a crime but it didn't matter cause he was black so they knew that even if he explained his self he was still getting a pleaded guilty and was going to get a death sentence.
Question 3) Yes this quotation indicates a conflict of even the ones who wasn't in court that day or was young they knew he was going to die in the electric chair. They just couldn't understand why or how he wasn't capable of murder. even though the town knew Jefferson wasn't guilty they knew he was going to die in the electric chair. back than if you was black and was accused of a crime or at the crime seen you was guilty. your opinions didn't matte because you was black.

my dream vacation
If i could go anywhere in the world for a vacation it would be Hawaii. The reason why is because Hawaii water is so beautiful and pretty. Their water is not like the water you normally see in Mobile or Pensacola. Hawaii has a warm climate and is filled with nothing but fun. It is most commonly know as a paradise because of the beaches and the peace which can be helpful if i have a lot of stress going on. Hawaii is a very calm place which is what every future college students need before entering college. I believe i will be visiting Hawaii in 3 years from now on one of my college breaks.

Temporary escape
Like "stopping by woods, on a snowy evening" by robert frost i too and many others have a temporary escape from reality. I think everyone should have a temporary escape to release alot of pain and stress buildt up on them whether it's school, work, or your personal life you should have a temporary escape. My major temporary escape is band because music helps clears my mind and relieves stress and/or pain. As i play my instrument I release my anger, pain, and stress through my notes and music. When i listen to my band members play my body tingles, makes me feel happier, and makes me want to get up and dance. Another temporary escape for me is walking a couple of blocks away or up and down the street listening to music. This helps me calm down because as I walk the music runs through my head and helps clear my mind and makes me feel better than before.
